The first mentoring project from shesaid.so
Please note the pilot programme kicked off in November 2017 and is ending in April 2018. The next phase of the mentoring programme starts in September and we will be running an open call for mentor and mentee applications in May/June this year. If interested, please subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated.
We are delighted to announce our first ever mentorship programme, she.grows. Sign-up for the scheme begins today, with a deadline of 29th September, exclusively for shesaid.so. Pairs of mentors and mentees will be put together by a panel of professionals across the industry, to be announced in October. This will begin a 4-month programme, consisting of a minimum of 2 hours a month commitment for mentors and mentees to spend together. We look forward to welcoming senior, experienced women in the industry to sign up as she.grows mentors; and any of our members who would love advice, guidance, or a new friendly face in the industry to sign up as mentees. Our aim is to create a network of motivating role models right across the industry, empowering women to continue working in the great ecosystem that is the music industry, and inspiring more movement towards the top levels of business as well as encouraging sisterhood at any stage in all of our careers.
As well as 2 monthly meet-ups between our carefully-curated pairs, shesaid.so will provide an event each month, focussing on different development areas for our participants, from business skills, to confidence workshops, to mental health.
We have a limited number of pairs for this pilot scheme, exclusively for those based in the UK, but look forward to helping as many of our members as possible with more programmes in the future. Our pairs will represent a cross-section of the industry, covering as many sectors as possible. We also seek to meet all UK Music Diversity guidelines across our she.grows participants.
