Émilie Gagné
Émilie Gagné was born in the mid-1980s in Quebec City, grew up in Sherbrooke and has been living in Montreal for the past 15 years. Discovering her passion for arts at an early age, she explored theater and dance before deciding to study film in Quebec City. She then moved to Montreal for a bachelor's degree in communications at Concordia University, while devoting all her free time to discovering and appreciating the emerging music scene, notably through photography and writing for the blog 33mag , (Montreal’s renowned nightlife and culture blog).
After graduation, Émilie definitely decided the devote her career to the music industry. It is through social media that she found the perfect tool to combine all her skills and use it in order to optimize Quebec artists’ outreach.
For the past ten years, Émilie has been refining and expanding her knowledge to create digital marketing strategies specifically adapted to music distribution. From GrimSkunk to Céline Dion, Valaire to Leonard Cohen, she develops customized solutions to maximize the reach of each artist who hires her.
Deeply committed to her values of equity, Émilie worked for two years with Montreal Women in Music, handling communications to promote their monthly brunches, panels and showcases.
Émilie currently works as Artist Marketing Manager at Sony Music Canada, where she implements digital strategies and collaborates on the international promotion of artists such as Céline Dion and Leonard Cohen. Her and her Team Celine colleagues won a Webby Award in the Social, Experiment and Innovation category (People's Voice Winner) in 2020 for the social media strategy implemented for the Courage album release.
