shesaid.so Athens was launched in April 2020 aiming to bring change to the current status of women in Music and Arts, which is characterized by poor representation and exposure, very few opportunities and prevalent sexism. Even though things are progressing globally, change does not follow the accelerated speed of other countries. The general motto of #shesaidsoAthens lies in the idea that talent surpasses and undercuts genres, gender, age, nationalities and solely focuses on inspiration, collaboration, diversity and inclusion.

Its general purpose is, through coordinated efforts, initiatives, networking, resources, knowledge and experience, to create a platform of professionals from all fields who will overturn the known status and pave the road towards equality.

Past Events & Initiatives

SELINA TAKEOVER

A two-day event with workshops, masterclasses, movement meditation practice, an art exhibition by fem artists, and a closing party that took over the communal spaces of an Athenian hotel. Local artists, music enthusiasts, industry professionals, and journalists discussed and co-existed with international guests, Lydia Laws (LLPR),  Gemma Ross (Mixmag), and Alinka (Twirl, DE).  

SANTAROSA SIRENS

Acaddemia in collaboration with shesaid.so Athens and HER project, presented an afternoon street fiesta in the heart of the city with the participation of five local woman artists, in a diverse musical program with live performances and DJ sets, under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens.

FVCK UP NIGHT

A different and inspiring  "fvcked up" networking event. Artists, entrepreneurs, and music industry professionals, shared epic stories of failure & fvck ups, how they were affected, how they overcame it, and got where they are today.
