A curated cultural exchange connecting the music communities of Romania and the UK.
MEETSSS is back! Sort of. shesaid.so is excited to team up with the Vans Checkerboard Fund at Tides Foundation to host two events in Bucharest, Romania and London, UK this year.
Following the first event in Bucharest on the 18th of June, the second (micro) MEETSSS event will take place in London on October 8th 2025. The event will bring together emerging talent and established voices from both cities for a night of music and conversation. We have some exciting local partners to announce so stay tuned for updates.
The London edition will feature three guest artists from Romania: DJ MĂ-TA, Admina and Evelina. Expect DJ sets, community, and a chance to connect with fellow music professionals and creatives. More details soon.
The goal behind this initiative is to encourage intimate knowledge sharing, showcase emerging talent, and direct cultural exchange between the two cities. With thanks to the Vans Checkerboard Fund at Tides Foundation.

Meet the Artists:
DJ MĂ-TA
(Artist)
Romania’s maternal figure in the booth, DJ MĂ-TA (roughly translated as DJ YOUR MOM) spun her first mix online in 2024, half-joking and half-bored. Fast-forward a few viral sets later, and she’s on the lineups of Untold, Electric Castle, and Neversea, filling stages with loyal crowds. She didn’t sneak onto the scene, she kicked the door down and created her own space in it. DJ MĂ-TA stands out by doing things her own way. She’s always trying something new, and doesn’t stick to one genre. One night it’s techno, the next it’s manele, another night it might be both. You never really know what to expect, and that’s exactly why people keep showing up.
EVELINA
(Artist)
Evelina is a rising electronic artist blending raw vocals with analog synths and experimental textures. She first gained recognition on Idol Romania (Pro TV) and signed with Universal Music Group following the release of her debut single Cu Ea in 2021. She later appeared on Paul Ilea’s Atlantis album (Embrace), which aired on Radio Helsinki. Now independent, Evelina released her solo live session PREFERATA TA in 2023 and has performed at the George Enescu Festival (Sync the Classics), as well as in Seville with Spain’s percussion group Toompack. She is also one half of the live electronic duo EVE+POL, whose latest single LIKE THAT reached No.1 on Romanian radio. Her recent shows include a Teenage Engineering showcase in Berlin, and she continues to collaborate with brands such as Samsung Romania, UNTOLD Festival, Stylophone, and Meters Music.
ADMINA
(Artist)
Admina is a versatile artist blending roles as a DJ, producer, visual creator, and advocate for inclusivity in electronic music. A resident of LYL Radio in France, they host the show URZICA 3000. As a founding member of Corp, a platform supporting female and non-binary electronic music artists, Admina also co-hosts the radio shows Arp148 and Corpcast, which explore themes within the queer community. Their artistic pursuits span feminist poetry, experimental audiovisual projects, and performances in dance and theatre.
