ENG: We aim to create opportunities, dialogue, and to be an arena for local women, gender minorities and their allies in the Norwegian music industry. We want shesaid.so Norway to be a common meeting place to exchange knowledge, experience, and network opportunities. Through collaboration and diversity, shesaid.so Norway wants to expand the social and professional awareness of gender balance, equality, and diversity. We aim to build bridges across the music industry and forge even stronger ties between the industry's network of women and gender minorities through seminars, panel debates, insightful networking, and inclusion.

Past Events & Initiatives

CLAIM YOUR SPACE! FOR WOMEN & NON-BINARY PEOPLE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

"We've asked everyone, and there are no more women to ask." This is becoming an outdated excuse. It must be talked about that there are not enough women available, that we turn down positions, and that we hesitate to speak in the media.

Musikkforleggerne and shesaidso Norway hosted a seminar to inspire and provide insight into how to claim your space and say yes to opportunities.

During the seminar, there was media training with Jette F. Christensen, Yvonne Fosser spoke about what it means to be part of a board and hold other positions, and a panel discussion featured Lena Midtveit (Sony Music), Mia Hallesby (GILT), Silje Larsen Borgan (Little Big Sister), and Kedist Bezabih (Goodlive Artists), who shared their journeys into the music industry and their experiences.

HUNINVESTERER

In collaboration with DNB, shesaidso Norway organized #sheinvests, an evening packed with learning about music economy and financial investment.

The event covered topics such as "Revenue Streams in Music" (with Lena Midtveit, Managing Director of Sony Music Norway), "How to Save and Invest Smartly" (with Behnaz Ganji, savings expert at DNB), and a panel discussion on "Owning Your Own Finances" (featuring Etna v/ Silje Larsen Borgan, DNB v/ Sigrid Ulekleiv, Sesong 1 v/ Simen Eidsvåg, and Music Norway v/ Tone Østerdal).

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY - 8TH MARCH EVENTS

We have started a tradition that we want to continue developing by hosting an International Women's Day event every year.

The first year we held a Q&A with Janne Monsen Tveit about her career (former editor of 730.no and now music producer at NRK P3).

In 2025, in collaboration with Meet the Business, the Q&A featured artists Myra and Not Charles, who shared their experiences, challenges, and best advice on navigating the music industry as women and artists. The discussion centered around the question: "Are we making progress, and is gender equality really moving forward?"
