Courtney Phillips Spoehr: Head of Music

Courtney Phillips is the Head of Music at the app Calm - the global mental wellness platform. After growing up in a music business and travel-loving family, she got her own career started with the endorsements team at William Morris Endeavor. From there she went to Universal Music Group, and then over to Filter Magazine to run their partnerships and festival events, before going back to UMG to have many wonderful years and grow to a Director of Brand Partnerships. She’s thrilled to be at Calm, and help grow their music library with exciting new content, and bring peaceful nights and relaxing days to the Calm community.

Danielle Middleton: Senior Director (manager of songwriters and producers)

“In the last 12-18 months Danielle has signed some of the top performing writer-producer-artists across genre to Sony Music Publishing. This year, she’s taken those relationships into management, where she can work more closely with music creators. Opening Page 1’s U.S. office, she now oversees the careers of Grammy Award-winning writer-producers Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Khalid, Imagine Dragons) and Mark Rankin (Adele, Iggy Pop, Florence and The Machine), Grammy nominated Drew Pearson (Zac Brown Band, Kesha, Phillip Phillips) and worldwide chart-topping artist Jawsh 685, among many others."

A born and bred New Yorker (Sunset Park), arts education was important to her teacher parents (her mom threw out the TV!), who enrolled her in the Metropolitan Opera’s Children’s Chorus program where she studied music theory before going on to perform with artists as varied as Pavarotti (who called her his pretty little flower) and Michael Jackson. Middleton credits Sia’s early songwriting on Colour the Small One, for drawing her into a life of service to music creators.S

Emily Gonneau: Founder Unicum Music & Co-founder Change de disque

Jackie Shuman: Marketing Music, Netflix

“Jackie and I were connected thanks to her efforts to ensure more music made by women and gender minorities gets the opportunity to be synced on Netflix content. Thanks to Jackie's initiative, shesaid.so and SITM partnered to co-host a live Q&A with the Netflix team who have made themselves available to provide tips and advice to our communities. Since then, Jackie has worked with several talented artists she met from both organizations on custom music projects. Kayleigh Ramchand: Publishing Clients Manager

Kayleigh has always put community at the centre of her career, using her position to break down barriers and support those from underrepresented backgrounds. As a Client Manager at Kobalt Music, she has dedicated a lot of time to outreach programs, working with companies like DiVA to facilitate traineeship programs for young people with little or no qualifications & developed educational podcasts and resources as part of her work on the Music Publishers Association Futures Committee.

With her recent move to Musixmatch, Kayleigh is continuing to support creators at a company at the forefront of data and technology. In her varied role as Publishing Clients Manager, Kayleigh manages all communication with Musixmatch's publishing partners, and thrives to use her position to educate independent songwriters and creators on understanding their rights, and monetising their catalogue.Kayleigh is also a member of the Shesaid.so Parenthood committee, and is very passionate about sharing her honest journey as a mother within the music industry.

Susan Montgomery: Music Publisher / Project Manager

Susan has been part of the 23rd Precinct Music team a little over 4 years and in that time she has helped breathe a new lease of life into the publishing company. Working tirelessly to organise a historic catalogue whilst simultaneously seeking new and exciting opportunities for budding songwriters & producers. During lockdown she committed to running virtual songwriting camps to maintain a level of optimism and creativity within the 23rd roster. Early this year, Notting Hill Music group enlisted Susan's A&R experience, assigning her to the role of A&R for South East Asia working with Notting Hill partner Sony ATV in that territory.
