shesaid.so x Orchestral Tools Microgrant — Open Call

May 08, 2026 in Announcement, shesaid.so x OT

shesaid.so is collaborating with Orchestral Tools to open applications for the Microgrant programme supporting self-identifying LGBTQ+ composers.

Orchestral Tools produce high-quality sampled instruments for composers — Hans Zimmer is perhaps their most well-known aficionado.

OT have noticed that the composer community is slowly becoming more diverse, but is still hugely imbalanced, and its doors are not always open for queer composers. Encouraged by OT staff members from the LGBTQ+ community, they have initiated microgrants to provide support and recognition to queer composers.

Since January 2025, OT have actively supported self-identifying LGBTQ+ composers of all levels by offering a monthly microgrant. Each grantee receives a customised package of free licenses, mentoring, networking, and exposure to help give their work a boost. The scheme has been audited by dif e.V. to promote safer space practices.

How to apply: Email info@yourmomsagency.com with the subject line shesaid.so x OT Microgrant

Deadline: May 31, 2026

About Orchestral Tools

If you’ve seen a film recently, you’ve probably heard what OT does! The independent German digital instrument making company, with one office in Berlin and another in Freiburg, features a small, tight-knit team made up of experienced composers, musicians, producers, developers, and audio specialists. Orchestral Tools views sampling as an art form, and a way of capturing moments of time as sound

The company was founded in 2005 by Hendrik Schwarzer who is still the CEO and the creative mind behind most of the products and strategies. By applying creative vision, careful attention to detail, and expert ears, they’re creating a growing portfolio of instruments and orchestras to inspire composers and music-makers around the world, and help make music sound better.
